Kevin Costner has confirmed that he will not be returning to Yellowstone.

The American Horizon star shared a video on his Instagram account on Thursday to confirm his exit from the series.

He admitted in a video, “Hi everyone. I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that's required, and thinking about Yellowstone — that beloved series that I love — that I know you love. I just realized that I'm not going to be able to continue Season 5b or into the future.”

Costner further mentioned, “It was something that really changed me. I loved it, and I know you loved it.”

He continued, “I just wanted to let you know that I won't be returning,” he repeated.

Costner concluded, “I love the relationship we've been able to develop, and I'll see you at the movies.”

For the unversed, the eagerly awaited second part of the season is set to debut on Paramount Network on November 10, following the release of the video message on June 20.

Costner portrayed the role of patriarch John Dutton III for four and a half seasons, from 2018 to 2022.
