Joni Mitchell is  all set to perform at the 66th annual Grammy Awards and will  be delivering a musical gig at the ceremony for the first time in her career.

The Grammys announced the exciting news on Sunday, January 28, 2024, through a press release that the Big Yellow Taxi crooner will be perform at the awards ceremony, to be held on February 4, 2024.

Mitchell is also nominated for one Grammy this year in the category of best folk album for her work on the album Joni Mitchell At Newport [Live].

Her 2023 album, ultimately earned the singer her first Grammy nomination in a folk category after many years.

The 80-year-old singer's performance was also announced on the Grammy Awards official Instagram account, on Sunday.

"Don’t miss nine-time GRAMMY winner and past @MusiCares Person of the Year @jonimitchell’s first-ever #GRAMMYs performance! Tune-in to @cbstv on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT," the caption of the post read.

Artists performing at the 66th Grammy Awards this year:

At the award ceremony, Mitchell will be joining the stage alongside a list of performers that includes Billie Eilsh, Billy Joel, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, Burna Boy, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott and U2, who will be performing live from the ceremony’s venue, The Sphere, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Joni Mitchell is already a nine-time Grammy Award winner and has been nominated for the awards for a total of 18 times throughout her career.

Her last Grammy win was back in 2022, when she bagged the trophy for the category of best historical album for Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963-1967).

2022 was also a big year for Mitchell because besides the Grammy Award, the Summertime crooner marked her first live performance in 20 years at the Newport Folk Festival in July 2022.
