Jamie Lynn Spears will donate her salary to SAG-AFTRA and WGA
Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn Spears who isrecognized for her performances in Zoey 101 and Sweet Magnolias, is ready to demonstrate her prowess on the dance floor of the upcoming32nd season of Dancing with the Stars.
ABC made the revelation on Good Morning America, where they also revealed that Charity Lawson from The Bachelorette and Ariana Madix from Vanderpump Rules will compete for the famous Mirrorball Trophy.
Spears is set to join forces with Alan Bersten, making them the inaugural pair to be formally revealed for this upcoming season.
When asked about her preparedness, the 32-year-old Spears responded during her interview with GMA, saying, "I don't know if one can ever be 100% ready to take on something this big; I didn't realize what a commitment it is, but it definitely is. I'm ready to challenge myself."
Spears subsequently disclosed her intention to contribute her weekly earnings to support SAG-AFTRA and the WGA during their ongoing strike.
She added, “While everybody else in my community is on strike, I have this unique opportunity where I was offered a chance to work when my community cannot work.”
The All That starlet continued, “So I figured I'll do this and I will donate my weekly salary... to just give back to them at a time where they can't give back to themselves.”
Her dancing partner, Bersten disclosed that they have already begun rehearsals and shared insights into their strong connection.
The 29-year-old added, "We had our first rehearsal and it was great, adding, “Jamie Lynn is so hard-working and so dedicated and it's actually so much fun. We get along so well."
Spear stated, "He’s been wonderful," went on to say, "My family got to meet him and he’s been great. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else."
