Emirates A380 suffers hydraulic failure upon touch down at Gatwick, London

Famous UAE carrier, Emirates, faced a major setback as it stopped on the runway at London Gatwick International Airport for nearly 45 minutes.

The stopped aircraft caused five diversions and a slew of delayed flights.

On Thursday, the A380 had departed Dubai International Airport for Gatwick but seemingly endured big hurdles on the way.

As per reports by the aviation, the hydraulic landing gear caused the front landing gear to become bent on landing, spreading fear and panic among the passengers on board EK 9.

The aircraft then eventually towed making way for other flights to carry on takeoff and landings and some were even diverted to London Luton Airport (LTN).

Shortly after the unexpected incident, a spokesperson for London Gatwick Airport released a statement sharing insights into the journey.

"The Main Runway was closed for a short time this evening following an Emirates A380 making an emergency landing. It landed safely, but due to a gear fault, it could not turn off the runway, which meant it needed to be towed. Our team worked to get the plane off the runway as quickly as possible."
